Virtual Exchange Course (FSCIRE/TUC/KU) – 2024

The VEREAD (Virtual Exchange for Religious Education and Dialogue) project is launching a new Virtual Specialization Course on Contexts, Sources, and Methods for Critical-Historical Research and Discussion of Religion, organized in partnership with Kenyatta University (KU), Tangaza University College (TUC), and the Fondazione per le scienze religiose (FSCIRE).

Course Overview

This 13-week course, beginning on September 5th and running through November 28th, is designed to provide participants with critical skills for interpreting religious phenomena. The course focuses on the religious contexts of Eastern Africa, with in-depth exploration of Christianity, Islam, African Traditional Religion, and interreligious dialogue.

Key Features

Format: The course will be conducted online via Zoom, with 1.45 hours of teaching per week, complemented by virtual group activities to enhance interactive learning.
Modules: The course is divided into three comprehensive modules:

Participants will engage in a series of lectures and student-centered activities designed to foster intercultural dialogue and critical thinking. The course also includes a variety of textual analyses and discussions, encouraging a comparative and interdisciplinary approach to understanding religious traditions.
