Formazione ed esperienza accademica e professionale
Ha studiato teologia, filosofia e lingue romanze presso le università di Magonza, Tubinga, Roma (Gregoriana) e Francoforte (Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule St. Georgen, Francoforte) ed ha conseguito il Ph.D. in lingue romanze e filosofia (Università di Magonza), il Dottorato in Teologia (Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule St. Georgen, Francoforte) e l’abilitazione in Teologia (Università di Strasbourg). È Professore ordinario di Esegesi dell’Antico Testamento all’Università di Strasburgo. Autore di monografie di esegesi biblica e co-autore di un commentario al libro di Osea nei Settanta (Bible d’Alexandrie), ha curato l’edizione di vari volumi in francese, spagnolo, italiano, inglese e tedesco, fra cui va segnalata la partecipazione come traduttore e commentatore alla Septuaginta Deutsch, la traduzione dei LXX in tedesco. Dal 2015, è membro della “Classe di Studi sul Vicino Oriente,” sezione ebraica, dell’Accademia Ambrosiana (Milano),
